A comprehensive motion identity system for Petal, bringing warmth, color, and personality to a category defined by cold minimalism.
Challenge
We partnered with MetaLab to craft the motion identity system for Petal, a crypto exchange breaking away from everything the category is known for. Crypto brands typically default to the same visual playbook: cold minimalism, dark palettes, technical seriousness. Petal took the opposite approach with a vibrant, bold, and colorful identity built on flower patterns and personality. Our challenge was translating that fresh brand vision into motion, creating an animation language that could carry the warmth and confidence of the brand across every touchpoint, from logo animations to web interactions to illustration systems, without ever slipping into the sterile aesthetic that defines the rest of the industry.
